Day Trip to Hallstatt and Hiking Galore

With recommendation from Rick Steves, myself and some friends, traveled to a small Austrian town called Hallstatt.  This village has historically been known for its production of salt.  Today Hallstatt has a little over 900 inhabitants.  We took a train from Vienna to Hallstatt...

Goodbye Train!
And then a short ferry to the town...
Hello Boat!

Travel buddies

Quaint small-town feel :)

Tree House

Check out that foam!

Lunch = Käsekrainer = Sausage with cheese inside = Yea Lunch. The thing on the plate that looks like shredded cheese is actually horseradish

The salt mines were unfortunately closed on the day we visited because it was a Sunday.

Aggressive Swan

Awesome town that feels very secluded, yet durning a more touristy time may be less enjoyable, because of its small size.
Neat Wooden Statue
Goodbye Hallstatt!
