Well there is no way to hide it, I'm behind on my blog because I am currently posting about Easter.  Despite the delayed posting, I had a wonderful time and would like to share that with you!  Katharina had visited me in Vienna for four days and then on the same day she departed for Germany, I left for my roommate's home in upper Austria (Oberösterreich).

I arrived Saturday night and got to meet her family and enjoy some traditional Schnapps made by a neighbor in her village.

The next day we went to Easter Mass and Sabine played the doublebase while her mother sang in the choir.  After church the parish assistant welcomed the choir to some celebratory Schnapps in the building next to the church.  Sabine said this is a tradition he has done for a couple of years.

We had lunch at the Gasthaus where Sabine's brother and fiance will have their wedding reception in August!

Sabine has a lovely family and if I lived with them my german would improve a lot!

Sabine's family lives in a small village outside of the town Friestadt.  She lives one house down from her grandparents and their farm.  We visited the farm and walked around their property.  It was beautiful and very refreshing to be in the countryside.

Katharina Visits Vienna!

So if being in Europe was not enough, I also got a three week long Spring Break!  During this time, Katharina came from Germany to visit!  I had an awesome four days with my German sister.  She arrived at the train station at 6AM!  I met her there, we walked back to my room and then we proceeded to take a nap until an appropriate hour of the day to be awake!

I missed her :)

We had a great time together.  It was awesome to reconnect after what has almost been a year now since she lived with my family.  We did our fair share of reminiscing about her year in Woodstock and I think it made us both miss our family!

We visited the University of Vienna and I tried to convince her to attend!

We visited the Albertina, an art museum.

This exhibit featured artists from the Munich area including one from of Katharina's village!

Then saw a different exhibit by an American artist, Mel Ramos, whose is famous for his pin-up girls!

We had amazing weather all four days of Katharina's visit.  We had picnics in the park everyday and enjoyed soaking up the sun.

I was so sad when Kat left!  But I think we are both excited for when my parents come to visit us in June!  They will be in Austria the first half of their trip and in Germany the second half!  So excited =)
